Fourth of July: A Day of Reflection and Renewal!
Two hundred and thirty-three years ago our founding fathers declared their independence from the tyranny of the King of England. Citing numerous violations against humanity, natural law, and God, the founding fathers declared in one voice that they will no longer tolerate an unresponsive government, over-taxation, and oppression. They declared their independence! Please read (or re-read) the Declaration of Independence.
This fourth of July, we celebrate the birth of this nation. However, many believe that our own government has become oppressive, unresponsive, and at this very moment is seeking to impose more taxes (directly and indirectly). It is time for a renewal. It is time for a rebirth. It is time for a revival. It is time to stand up and cry out “Give us our country back!”
Along with the founding fathers, many today state, “In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.” It’s time to change Washington. It’s time to bring back common sense. It’s time to bring back fiscal sanity.
We were promised lower taxes, balanced budgets, and smaller government. Instead, we’re given government takeovers, insurmountable deficits, and higher taxes. We were promised change we can believe in. Instead, we’re getting change we can’t survive in!
It’s time for real change. It’s time to return to the principles this nation was founded on.
Let July 4, 2009 be the day we begin a renewal in America.
I do not offer a pep rally, but a battle cry. Not a call to arms, but a call to peaceful–yet passionate–action. I call for voters to get off the sidelines, continue to speak out, and support conservative candidates who keep their promises. I call on the Republicans to return to their traditional values of lower taxes and lower spending. I call on elected officials to quit giving away our money and raising hidden taxes or face being thrown out of office.
If you agree, don’t just get excited–get active! Don’t just get pumped up at rallies, get moving in your neighborhoods!
Fifty-six men signed the Declaration and gave birth to this nation. What will you do?
