I can confirm that there are NO propositions on the ballot this election. There is a false email being circulated warning about three propositions ... THAT DO NOT EXIST ... The only thing on the ballot, as the webmaster said, are candidates.

I did a search for what all will be on the ballot statewide (which would include any proposed amendments). According to the TX Sec. of State's office, only candidates are on the ballot this November:

Source: http://www.votexas.org/what.html (run by the TX SOS)
Source: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/whatisontheballot.shtml

We'll check into it further to see what, if any, amendments are on the ballot.

You know, this is really a bogus point of criticism. For one thing, the Republican Minority in the Senate keeps using the fillibuster to stop Democrats from passing almost any major piece of legislation, no matter how popular that legislation might be. For another thing, Republicans were no more successful at passing budgets when George W. Bush was President and they controlled both houses of Congress from 2001-2007.

The fact is, our politics is broken. Both parties have participated in a dangerous brinksmanship that has brought our constitution almost to its breaking point.

I understand if Republicans have genuine policy disputes that are leading them to oppose Democratic proposals. However, it is misleading and disingenuous to slam tbe Democratic majority for inaction that has been caused by your party, especially when recent Republican majorities have a similar track record of inaction.
