Day 5: We’re All Just Raisin’ McCain

It is 11:40 PM on Thursday and I have just gotten back to the hotel from the convention. This has been another long day, beginning with a 7:30 AM breakfast with the Texas delegation where we received our schedule for the day. The last day of the convention is always compelling.

Throughout the day we were listening to the reports of the feedback after Governor Palin’s extravaganza last night. I talked with Marty Rhymes-Johnson at our Gregg County Republican Party HQ and found that her phone has been ringing off the wall from people excited about the VP choice and her speech. Many are seeking to work in the campaign . . . and you can help too! Call us at (903) 297-1908 or email us at info@greggcountygop.com.

Senator McCain was great at his acceptance speech tonight. The convention hall was vibrating with excitement. CBS polls showed that McCain/Palin overcame the 7 point lead that the Democrats had following their convention. Now tied at 42% each, it is up to McCain to take the lead with his speech.

We were not disappointed. People were standing on their chairs on the convention floor cheering! McCain showed the clear difference between himself and the inexperienced Obama. In economy, education, health care, taxes, foreign policy, or defense, McCain has the background and experience that Obama clearly does not.

I am looking forward to coming home. I am also looking forward to meeting with you and working together to finish this election with a victory for John McCain and Sarah Palin. Come join the victory . . . join the fight . . . and secure a future for our children and grandchildren.

Keith
